About the Artist

Jessica Mac Guinness is a mixed media artist with a passion for creating vibrant and dynamic pieces that capture the essence of nature and movement. She is currently enrolled in a tutoring program at Artist Lab Academy, where she continues to refine her artistic skills.

Her art journey began in 2001. Over the years, she has experimented with a variety of mediums on paper, wood, and canvas. Her preferred mediums include acrylics, pastels, and spray paint, which she blends in unique and unexpected ways to bring her visions to life.

Before fully embracing her path as an artist, she had a career in the fashion industry which included a degree in Fashion Design in the States. This background has influenced her artistic approach, adding a layer of depth and creativity to her work. Additionally, she developed an interest in interior design and antiques and ran her own company specializing in the restoration of antique furniture, a venture that woke up her passion for creating art even more.

What drives her as an artist is the thrill of experimentation and the freedom to explore different techniques. She rarely has a set plan when she starts a painting; instead, she allows the process to guide her, embracing imperfection and spontaneity. This approach brings a unique energy and movement to her work, making each piece a distinct expression of creativity.

Nature serves as her primary source of inspiration. The textures, colors, and forms found in the natural world profoundly influence her work, allowing her to capture the beauty and complexity of our environment in her art.
